Johns Hopkins Bayview is going to apply for a state grant through the Maryland Hospital Association next year, to help pay for the construction of 4 new operating rooms.  These are badly needed in order to help alleviate the crowding in the emergency department and to serve the continually growing volume of patients coming to the hospital.  We will be asking for $1 million, toward an $8 million project. MHA has an eligibility process that screens requests for the state legislature.  Our application to them is due in early June so we would need letters by next Thursday, June 1, 2006.

Pictured below are members of the Greater Dundalk Alliance and community along with developers Bob Ward, Jr., and Mike Campbell who have purchased the Seagram's site in Dundalk from Frank Scarfield.  Sharon Beazley of the Dundalk GDA has worked closely with Frank Scarfield to qualify a developer that has the communities best interests in mind!  The new owners (Ward & Campbell) plan to ask the county to designate the site for redevelopment under the counties new renaissance program, allowing flexibility in development rules in exchange for public participation.
